Dog Supported Emotional Rehabilitation
The dog, man’s best friend, is an exceptionally communicative animal that accepts humans as they are, without conditions or judgments. Beyond the profound emotional experience brought by meeting dogs, the ability to communicate with them, educate them, and build a direct relationship contributes significantly to increasing self-confidence, enhancing self-image, developing the ability to set and accept boundaries, cultivating tolerance, accepting others, developing empathy, and much more.
Because of these benefits and many others, dog-assisted therapy has proven to be an exceptionally effective way to bring about significant change in patients facing a wide range of emotional, psychological, and behavioral challenges. When these encounters are combined with the skills of professional therapists, the therapeutic process can produce lasting results, even for patients with particularly high levels of complexity.
The "Shiluvim" (שילובים) Center’s mission is to support as many injured individuals needing emotional support as possible.
